Vegan Egg Replacement Options

Some of the recipes you find online will want you to use eggs. If you don't want to bother the chickens for them, any of the options below will be a good alternative, although not all of them work in all situations.

For example, apple sauce and silken tofu will be much better at binding things together, while baking soda and vinegar are great at helping other ingredients rise. They do leave a taste of their own though, so use them with caution.

Charob gum has its very own taste that is a mix between smoky and nutty, and it will make your food appear very dark, so be aware of that when using it to substitute eggs.

  1. 1 tbsp chia seeds + 3 tbsp water
  2. 2 tbsp corn starch + 3 tbsp water
  3. 1 tbsp carob gum + 2 tbsp water
  4. 1 tbsp soy flour + 2 tbsp water
  5. 1 tbsp baking soda + 1 tbsp vinegar
  6. ⅓ cup apple sauce
  7. ½ banana
  8. ¼ cup of silken tofu
  9. 1 tbsp linseed + 2 tbsp water
